Tajuk/Title  	: 	THE LAUNCHING OF JACTIM FOUNDATION 


     
    1.    I would like to thank the management of JACTIM
    Foundation for inviting me here today to commemorate
    the establishment of JACTIM Foundation.
    
    2.   I understand that the objective of establishing
    JACTIM  Foundation  is basically  to  foster  closer
    relations   between  Japan  and  Malaysia.    JACTIM
    Foundation  should  serve as  an  extension  of  the
    efforts of JACTIM whose activities mainly centred on
    economic contributions to Malaysia's development.
    
    3.     In  consonance  with  JACTIM's  objective  to
    reinforce   and   nurture  cordial   links   between
    Malaysian and Japanese citizens,  JACTIM has  agreed
    that   activities  be  expanded  to  promote   wider
    cultural   exchanges  and  contribution  which   can
    benefit  both Malaysians and Japanese.  It  is  with
    this   understanding  that  JACTIM  Foundation   has
    embarked   on  programmes  which  would   ultimately
    enhance  the  richness of the  social  and  cultural
     aspects of Malaysians.
    
    4.    I  have no doubt that with time these ties  of
    friendship  between  Malaysia and  Japan  will  grow
    stronger  and  will  build  a  strong  bond  through
    greater  mutual understanding.  I hope  that  JACTIM
    Foundation's   activities   will   be   continuously
    advanced   so  as  to  contribute  to  the   healthy
    development of Malaysia's cultural heritage.
    
    5.    On this note, I have the pleasure of launching
    the JACTIM Foundation.
